Fine art equine photography celebrating the quiet beauty of horses, prairie landscapes, and the authentic rhythm of western life.
Explore the CollectionsDust & Spurs Western Photography is a collection of fine art photographs inspired by the quiet moments that define the West.
Rather than chasing spectacle, these images celebrate stillness, trust, texture, light, and the enduring connection between horses and the landscapes they call home. Every photograph is thoughtfully created as artwork for homes, ranches, and spaces where authenticity matters.
Whether you're a lifelong horse lover or simply drawn to timeless western art, I hope these photographs invite you to slow down, look a little closer, and discover the beauty that often exists in the quietest moments.
A selection of photographs that represent the heart of the Dust & Spurs collection.
Every collection explores a different aspect of the western experience. While each has its own character, together they tell one story: a story of horses, landscape, and the quiet moments that connect them.
Every photograph belongs to one of six collections, each exploring a different part of the western story. Together, they form a body of work built around presence, resilience, place, relationships, texture, and the everyday beauty of ranch life.
My work begins with observation.
The most meaningful photographs are rarely the loudest. They are found in the pause before movement, the light that settles across a winter coat, the quiet companionship of a herd, and the landscapes that have shaped generations of western life.
Every image in Dust & Spurs begins with patience and ends with the hope that it will bring a sense of calm, connection, and timeless beauty into someone's home.
About AlixThe West doesn't always reveal itself in grand moments. More often, it speaks in quiet ones.
Dust & Spurs Western Photography grew from a lifelong appreciation for horses, rural landscapes, and the quiet beauty that exists beyond the obvious.
While many photographs celebrate action, speed, or spectacle, I find myself returning to something quieter. I am drawn to the moments that often go unnoticed. A curious glance. A weathered mane moving in the wind. Horses standing together in peaceful companionship. The soft light at the beginning or end of the day. These are the moments that continue to inspire my work.
Each photograph is created with the intention of becoming more than an image. It is carefully selected, thoughtfully edited, and presented as fine art that can be lived with for years to come.
The collections are not simply organized by subject. They are organized by feeling. Together they tell a story of quiet presence, quiet strength, open landscapes, trusted companionship, rich textures, and the authentic rhythm of western life.
My hope is that these photographs do more than decorate a wall. I hope they bring a sense of calm, invite reflection, and remind us that beauty often exists in the moments we are most likely to overlook.
Thank you for spending time with my work.
